Alternative Dispute Resolution refers to the different ways to resolve legal conflicts outside of court, and includes mediation and arbitration.

Residential Foreclosures almost exclusively are handled through mediation, a process where the parties meet with a mediator, a neutral third party who serves to help the parties narrow the issues and settle the matter.  A mediator is not a decision maker, but rather a facilitator.  Please visit our “Mediation” tab on the home page to learn more about mediation.

Arbitration refers to the process of resolving legal disputes through the hiring of a neutral person or neutral panel of three individuals who undertake a process similar to a simplified trial.  That neutral or panel does determine the case, but the decision is subject in certain instances to further court review.   Please visit our “Arbitration” tab on the home page to learn more about arbitration
